Small or micro businesses make up a significant proportion of the business community and their success is a critical factor in our local and regional economy.
This award recognises the rich diversity of small businesses across all market sectors, and encourages their start up, growth and long-term sustainability, as well as resilience and adaptability to the current climate.
Business must have less than 50 employees and an annual turnover of under £10 million to enter this category.
Judges will be looking for:
- Strong performance, good governance, and a plan/vision for business growth.
- Innovation and market differentiation.
- A resilience/continuity plan in place.
- First class customer service and evidence of customer satisfaction.
- A commitment to diversity within the workforce.
- Strong leadership and excellent staff communications.
