Southwark Chamber has a broad range of members who can share advice, experience and peer support for business owners who want to take their business to the next level, as well as corporates active in the borough and wanting to engage in Southwark’s business community. Southwark Chamber help members build strong commercial connections within London, grow their businesses and support them in being part of the capital’s community and economy.

The Chamber’s aim in launching the Southwark Business Excellence Awards is to promote the area’s many business success stories and highlight the entrepreneurs who help to bring prosperity and growth to the borough. We anticipate the awards will instil confidence and pride in the borough’s business community, as well as encouraging economic growth and marketing Southwark as a world class place to do business.

Southwark Chamber runs frequent networking events created either in response to the needs of members, or purely for networking . Many of the events are free and give the perfect opportunity to meet like-minded business people in the borough.
The Chamber’s Executive Committee is made up of a dedicated team of volunteers with direct experience of doing business in Southwark. They create and manage the strategy for supporting members. Just like the Chamber members, the committee includes prominent and successful local business people, who are passionate about contributing to the commercial growth of Southwark.

At British Land we are working with Southwark Council to develop plans for a Canada Water Masterplan to create a fantastic new town centre for London. The masterplan will deliver around 2 million sq. ft. of office and workspace, up to 3,500 new homes and around 1 million sq. ft. of retail, leisure, entertainment and community space set in a network of streets and spaces.

We are committed to working with the community to deliver a range of long-term benefits for those who live in, work in and visit the area. Conversations with local residents and businesses have been a hugely valuable source of knowledge on how we can support local enterprise. A key ambition of our project is to create a new economic centre for Southwark, home to a range of employment opportunities, businesses and workspaces. We expect the scheme to create up to 20,000 jobs once complete and around 1,800 roles during its construction.

The communications sector is evolving fast. Through our world-leading community of teaching, research and industry partnerships, we enable our students to develop the critical, creative and technical excellence needed to succeed and discover new possibilities and practices.

The LCC experience is all about learning by doing. LCC students get their hands dirty and develop skills in outstanding technical spaces. Our facilities are at an industry standard and include photographic and television studios, darkrooms, 3D workshop, prototyping lab, gallery spaces, printing studios, newsrooms and more.

Our courses are known for being industry focused. Students here are taught by an inspiring community of experienced academics, technical experts, and leading specialist practitioners within our Design School, Media School, and Screen School.

We offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in subjects such as journalism, advertising, virtual reality, public relations and publishing, photography, film, television and sound, graphic communication, illustration and visual communication, animation, games, design management, branded spaces and interactive and information design.

Fourpure is a London based brewery founded by brothers Dan and Tom Lowe in 2013. Beer is our passion and our travels are what inspire us to brew. Our approach to exceptional brewing is all about attention to detail and not cutting corners, in an age-old industry we aspire to constantly innovate, be nimble and progressive yet strive to stay true to the principles of brewing – respecting the four core ingredients used to make beer: grain, yeast, hops and water. This was the inspiration for the name Fourpure.
