12 Jan Book your place for the Southwark Business Excellence Awards 2020 launch on January 21
The Southwark Business Excellence Awards 2020 are launching on Tuesday, 21 January at Sea Containers’ eclectic 12th Knot rooftop bar.
Enjoy refreshments and networking from 6.30pm with panoramic views of London’s skyline and the Thames. Listen to speeches on what the campaign, now in its third year, is all about and what it means to be shortlisted or to win.
London South Bank University is this year’s headline sponsor with British Land, Great Portland Estates, Landsec and Lendlease sponsoring ‘Women in Business’, ‘Contribution to the Community’, ‘Best Employer’ and ‘Independent Retailer’, respectively. Drinks will be provided by Hiver Beers, winner of last year’s Independent Retailer of the Year category.
A partnership between Southwark Chamber of Commerce and Southwark Council, the Awards will officially open to entries following the launch. The glittering finale, the Gala Dinner and Charity Ball, takes place after a five-month process involving a rigorous judging process.
The Awards aim to recognise and reward the wide range of firms based in the London Borough of Southwark, which is home to 18,000 businesses, including major international companies and brilliant community businesses.
With a design reminiscent of a 1920s transatlantic cruise liner, award-winning food and drink outlets, and an electric energy, Sea Containers London is a fantastic venue for the Awards launch and sets the tone of the campaign.
Kate Northrop, Director of Sales & Marketing, Sea Containers London, said: “Sea Containers London is proud to be hosting this year’s Southwark Business Awards in 12th Knot. We are one of the largest hospitality businesses on the Southbank and are committed to being an anchor to our community. Entrepreneurship should be nurtured and cherished as it brings new business to the Borough that we all benefit from and we are extremely proud to be involved with an event that celebrates these endeavours.”
