05 Oct Southwark Business Excellence Awards – Finalists revealed
Southwark Business Excellence Awards, in association with London South Bank University, are delighted to announce their 2020 finalists.
The borough’s leading business awards, which have now moved online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, saw an incredible number of entries this year. Women in Business, Customer Service and Small Business nominations were particularly high.
Judges were highly-impressed by the calibre of businesses who shared their stories of success and resilience when faced with the impact of COVID-19.
Finalists must now submit their second-round submissions by Friday, 16 October. The traditional judging day will take place, virtually, from 9 to 12 November, with winners including an overall Business of the Year, announced at the virtual Awards ceremony on Thursday, 26 November.
Richard Kalmar, joint interim chair, Southwark Chamber of Commerce, said: “As our remarkable businesses have demonstrated, Southwark truly is a beacon for business excellence. We have been amazed by their achievements and how they have adapted their business models to succeed in these unique times. We are delighted to support and showcase them. Congratulations to our finalists!”
Professor Pat Bailey, Provost, London South Bank University (LSBU), said: “We’re delighted to be supporting the Southwark Business Awards again this year.
“Over 100 local businesses have entered this year’s awards in spite of the challenges they’ve faced during the Covid19 pandemic.
“LSBU is a civic university and our mission is to cultivate the link between the local Southwark community and businesses. We’re proud to be supporting the local business community during this difficult time and look forward to working with them in future.”
The Awards programme is sponsored by London South Bank University, Event Partners Southwark Council and Southwark Chamber of Commerce, Landsec, Lendlease, British Land, Great Portland Estate, Elephant & Castle Town Centre and supported by Southwark News, Sea Containers London, Hiver Beers.
